Training Opportunities

We are happy to share our expertise on sexual violence prevention and response with our community. We provide industry-specific training on specific topics.

We also provide training on our services, which includes guidance on how to refer people to us. Community organizations are encouraged to reach out to request a training. Learn more about our offerings below, and email us to schedule a training.

SARSSM 101 Training (30 - 60 min)

Your organization or institution can learn more about SARSSM’s services and how to make referrals with our SARSSM 101 training.  We can provide this in-person or virtual training in two formats - a condensed .5 hour training (great for staff meetings!) or a more robust 1.0 hour training, allowing more time for Q&A.

Volunteer Info Session (30 min)

If your community or organization encourages volunteerism, we are happy to provide an in-person or virtual presentation to highlight ways that community members can get involved in our work! Learn about openings for volunteer advocates on our sexual assault helpline and other opportunities to support our work.

Understanding Childhood Sexual Development and Abuse Prevention Training (1.5 hours)

In this training, we provide information about healthy childhood sexual development and its role in child sexual abuse prevention.  We can customize this training for various audiences, including parents and caregivers, school educators, youth-serving adults, and more.

Training the Trainer - Child Sexual Abuse: Personnel Awareness and Education (2.5 hours)

Participants will be equipped with the tools necessary to deliver our foundational training: Understanding Childhood Sexual Development and Abuse Prevention. This training meets the statewide requirement for response preparedness and is designed for school nurses, counselors or educators.

Askable Adult (1.5 hours)

Adapted from Vermont Network's curriculum, SARSSM's Askable Adult training intends to educate and empower all adults to have strong, effective and affirming relationships with youth using positive communication to develop trust.
